Recall Arnold, Elect Susan Sarandon
So I keep hearing about liberal Democrats who want to recall Arnold Scharzenegger in time for the March primary. The big question I'd have would be: who would run against him?

Cruz Bustamante? Only if we want Lieberman to win the California Democratic presidential primary.

Dianne Feinstein? Only if we want her U.S. Senate seat to go Republican (DiFi should wait until the real gubernatorial race in 2006)

Loretta Sanchez? Great candidate, but she'd be better as a replacement for Feinstein in the U.S. Senate.

Jane Harman? I bet California Dems are kicking themselves for not nominating Harman instead of Davis back in 1998!

Gray Davis? Not a chance!

Since the GOP ran a Hollywood celebrity with The Terminator, why not have the Democrats do the same? I say run Susan Sarandon, who is beloved by liberal activists, well, everywhere. Turn out the liberal vote in droves in San Francisco and Los Angeles...the Democratic base will already be far outnumbering the Republican base, since Democrats all over California will want to express their preferences for the presidential primary?

So if they're going to recall Arnold, why not take full advantage of it?

Oh, and by the way, what is this malarky about McClintock thinking he can run against Barbara Boxer and defeat her in 2004?

1. Doesn't she live in New York?
I don't think she's a resident of California, but I could be wrong.

2. Didn't you get the memo?
Entertainers should stay out of politics.

You can't run Sarandon, Streisand, Asner, Maines, or anyone else associated with the Great Satan. Anyone in any form of show business should just shut their treasonous mouths and get out of the way of progress.

I mean, where would this country be if actors and singers actually ran for office?

Sheesh!
