3. Sorry
Didn't have enough room or I would have included a few more international choices. I left off MSNBC too!

7. Did you know that BBC sold all its NA frequencies to Radio Netherlands.
That's why you hear so much Radio Netherlands these days.

BBC did that because they didn't want to give away for free the programming that they license to NPR, and which makes them so much money.

15. I like it. I think it's better than BBC in some respects...
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 01:48 PM by AP
because BBC spends so much time advertising the Premier League and cricket.

In place of the sprots talk, Radio Netherlands will actually do extended interviews with people on interesting policy issues.

RN may not have as many reporters all over the world right now as BBC has. But I learn more about how the world works by listening to a local Dutch story in depth than I do by hearing an extended report on Nasser Hussein's trials and tribulatioins on the pitch.

10. None - IMO, only fools consider
TV and radio to be a source of anything other than info about what the mindless masses are being exposed to.

11. BBC and The Daily Show
The BBC is pretty reliable, they don't sanitize the news. When the war in Iraq started, they showed the suffering of the Iraqi people-their injuries, their destroyed homes, etc. Not everyone, including me, wants to see that misery, but it is what's real. It was kind of funny last night, because their lead story wasn't the California recall.

13. The following phrase is an oxymoron: "TV/Radio News Source"
Don't watch TV "news" or listen to radio "news." I get my news from print or online.

14. Reuters is pretty good
Edited on Wed Oct-08-03 01:47 PM by Capn Sunshine
we use their finance sections and when I have time I check the news. Nice counterbalance to Bloomberg, whose screens are a necessary part of the banking world.

on edit: They aren't TV /radio. But who gets their news from THERE?
Oh yeah. 75% of the voting public.

16. Oops, looks like the limbots are showing up.
Quick, someone aske them if they think we found weapons of mass destruction and a connection between OBL and SH. This should be funny...

Oh yeah, ask them if the world is round and if night follows day.

This should be good.
