2. it is interesting but
a significant minority of that base also voted for the recall according to exit polls. African-Americans over 20% for the recall, Latinos over 40% for the recall. Union members over 40% for the recall. Women just over 50% for the recall. Gays/Lesbians/Bi over 40% voted for the Recall.

It looks like Davis and Bustamante didn't generate a great deal of enthusiasm among the base.

far left?

Is the base of the Democratic party now considered far left?
