Legal Action Re: DU server
What can we do about this Limbaugh-led attack on our server? (I know this is something similar to a dupe, but the question is posed more toward actual lawyers on DU, or people with vast legal knowledge.)

We know the following:

a) It was an attack on our server
b) It was sabotage.

Are these not criminal charges that we have on our hands? (As if Rush doesn't have enough already.)

2. I see...
The responsibility would lie with freepers then. No point in following through, since most of them "know not what they are doing."

17. I'm with the Grenator on this one
It's pretty damn hard to sue a thousand (or hundred) freepers who clog your bandwidth. What they're doing is not illegal.

Nor does that stop us from sending numerous requests to Rash's web server-- this is a free country, for now.....

7. He gave out the URL on his show today.
And then, apparently, said what the previous poster quoted, about not recommending they visit us, but that he knew they would. I don't listen either, and won't, but the quote has been posted several times in different threads.

Like he has to encourage Free Republic users to fling themselves on the shiny, sharp mail spike of DU moderators. They seem to enjoy having that steel rammed through their spleen almost as much as they like voting for people who don't have their best interests at heart.

his liberal lawyer made him enter detox. His detox doctor is also a liberal.

11. I confess - I'm a lawyer
As I understand it, Rush just encouraged his minions to visit the DU site and clog up the server. That's not illegal. However, it could lead to a hacking attempt by one of his wacko followers. If so, be sure and contact the U.S. Attorney's Office nearest the DU office and ask to speak to the Computer Crime Coordinator to report the incident.

15. If you assume the media reports are accurate...
about what the housekeeper says, and the housekeeper is a credible witness, then YES. But, I have had several media reports about some of my cases. Not one of them was entirely accurate, despite spending substantial time explaining the case, ruling, whatever, to the reporter and giving them copies of the pleadings. Therefore, I am always extremely sceptical about the accuracy of news reports on legal matters.
