I moved to SF in October of 1984. Stayed at my brother's place in the Marina.

One morning, I was awakened by what I thought was an aerial attack. It was Fleet Week!

I'd never heard of it, and had no warning whatsoever. All of a sudden, fighter jets were buzzing the aparment. It was bizarre.

about SF I do not miss. My apartment in the Marina, had old wooden window frames that shook like crazy when they practiced - not a good feeling when you live in quake country. And damn, they're LOUD!

But I must admit, it was a sight to behold when they flew _under the bridge. (Don't think they can do that any more.)

Isn't fleet week at little late this year? When I was much younger, I enjoyed fleet week.
