Saying that the Republican Party lies is in itself a truism. To say that the American public rushes to the lie rather than seeking the truth is also a truism.
There should be no American citizen that does not know that Bush lied in order to gain public support for his misadventure in Iraq, but the lies neither started or stopped there, nor will the cease at anytime in the foreseeable future. The Republicans a dead-set upon changing the political structure of this country and are willing to use a lie to accomplish that objective.
Whenever a Republican politician takes the oath of office in which they swear to uphold the constitution they are lying. Whenever a Republican talking head tells you that they are for the people they are lying. It takes only a moment to compare what the Republican leaders say to what they do for the average person to see that there is a disconnect between what is being said and reality.
The question is how long will the people continue to embrace the lie? It is inconceivable that the American working class would support those who are trying to rule them by lying to them and doing so with such transparent lies.
