Tonight's Debate: Who Needs To Do What
I think tonight's debate is more important for some candidates than for others

Dean needs to keep his cool, dump some of his stump speech and try to remain above the fray. He's got to balance passion with presidential.

Clark needs to answer questions with a greater degree of specificity than he did in the last one. This shouldn't be too difficult for him as the topic, I believe, is foreign policy. Clark should also try to stay above the fray. He doesn't need to attack.

Kerry had a good performance last time out. He needs to repeat it. Kerry should also try not to attack Dean. It looks desparate, and he's lousy at it.

Gebhardt should tone down the attacks, and stop pounding the podium. For all the talk about an angry Dean, Gep's been the one who's over the top- at least in the last two debates.

Edwards needs to continue getting his message out. I think he's done an admirable job of presenting himself well. He doesn't need to change much.

Kucinich has some great things to say. He needs to take care not to sound so shrill.

Carol and Al- just keep on doing what you've been doing.

Lieberman needs to......go away.

1. Fabulous Analysis
I would say that ALL of the candidates have to address, at some point, Black Box Voting

It'd be great if all DU'ers pledged to ask their respective candidates about Electronic Voting Machines if they have the opportunity at a Town Hall Meeting or something.

2. If This Is About Foreign Policy I Feel More Comfortable About
the candidate I am leaning towards....

My criterion is simple.....

The candidate I choose has to have the best chance to beat *

Everything else is superfluous....

Good morning,

Brian

4. I want to see some really honest talk about the I/P situation!!
That is the world's powder keg.

Not one wil admit that Israel is also committing war crimes except Kucinich. And if any of them come out with a variation of the "Palestinian peace first, THEN we'll be an "honest broker..."...and"I condemn those additional settlements and the past ones, but the Palestinians just gotta wait until HELL FREEZES OVER>>> to get rid of them," can we ask EACH of them about their connections to AIPAC, etc?

Does Israel have biological weapons?

Time for some HONEST talk about I/P.

5. You Are Not Kidding
The I/P situation is a minefield though... it seems the candidates are trained to say NOTHING in as many words as possible.

6. Alas,
None of the major contenders will touch this with a ten foot pole, particularly after the slap down Dean got for simply using the phrase even handed.
