1. Mid to end of week, maybe.

He's doing a lot of callbacks based on the new flurry of evidence.

17. I've heard that this Grand Jury is seated until 10/28.
I know that they can be released early, but that's what I hear.

4. Judge by the terror alerts.
Unless Fitzgerald manages to issue the indictments without anyone getting wind of the actual time, of course. If the "in-crowd" knows, we'll surely have terror stories to distract us.

5. Since he's getting new information, he might wait ...

I think he will wait to announce any indictments, since he's getting new evidence to consider. He will probably not want to announce any until after Rove testifies.

10. To coincide with the coming of the AntiChrist? 17/18th October
Although the Grand Jury probe of the White House scandal has been unique by Washington standards for the relative lack of leaks to the media, there are several currents that are beginning to emerge:

Investigators are focusing on an email between Karl Rove and then-Deputy National Security Adviser Stephen J. Hadley that referenced a July 11, 2003 conversation between Rove and Time's Matt Cooper. In a case reminiscent of Oliver North

Then-White House counsel Alberto Gonzales informed White House Chief of Staff Andrew Card at 8:00 pm on September 29, 2003 that the Justice Department was beginning a criminal investigation of the White House over the CIA leak. Gonzales did not order the White House staff to preserve all documents, email, and memos until the next day, giving the White House a full twelve hours to destroy any incriminating documents

If the special prosecutor determines that evidence was destroyed, obstruction of justice indictments could be issued against Gonzales, Card, and Hadley. Whoopee!

18. What about Cheney?
I think there is a possibility that Cheney may need to come in aftee Rove gets his 4th turn. Im thinking Fitz is going to hold out till about the 25th.

Thats what Im hoping for that or an extension of the GJ, anyway you cut it he is still trying to flush out some more testimony from somewhere, why else would Rove come in unprotected if there isn't a bigger fish to fry? Not being rhetorical at all there just want to see your persepective on that.

15. My thinking
Edited on Mon Oct-10-05 05:16 PM by longship
I feel strongly that his case and the indictments are already out of the oven. All this last minute positioning is just the frosting on the cake. We all know that there's been plenty of time for things to be decided.

My evidence for this is that the only leaks in the case have come from the perp side of things. Fitz has kept the oven door tightly closed and is now keeping the cake under wraps until it is finished.

I am not at all concerned about talk that Fitz has no indictments ready and that he's still deciding. I think that the deciding was done some time ago. He may even be waiting for a political environment more conducive to impeachment or something like that. Or, he could be releasing misinformation to throw the dogs off the scent. (Mmmmm! Fresh baked cake.)

Ask yourself this. What would you do if you had Chimp/Crashcart by the short hairs? With Repugs having a lock on Congress, would you release indictments? Or, would you wait until there was a reasonable expectation that your investigation would not become moot by the political environment?

One thing is sure. The political environment is now ripe. That's why I think we'll see Fitz unveiling the whole cake very soon.

16. I think the earliest will be next week.
Besides the final testimonies, he has to wrap up that info with the GJ and put it all together. He has until Oct. 28th, and he will likely use most of that time.

20. Fitzgerald Will Wait For The Bitter End
He has until the 28th. So much is crumbling, why not hold out til the last minute to sweep up the debris? That's what I would do, for completeness' sake.
