5. We want Obey as our VP....
David Obey would be OUR choice for Vice President on the Democratic ticket 2004.

But, we know the State of Wisconsin does not want to let him go.

7. No, you can't have him for VP
Plus, I just saw in an article that he has promised to stick around for another 10 years, thanks to the shrubster and his misadministration.

Go Dave. He has always been outspoken about the administration. He just doesn't get the attention that many other reps get in the media. This is nothing new for Dave and I would expect no less.

6. Proud to say
I'm proud to say thet Dave Obey is my rep in Washington. I've had the chance to meet with him on about a half dozen occasions. Hell of a guy. Been in the House for 34 years. We had a dinner for him a couple weeks agoand he said the most important thing this country can do is get rid of Bush. When asked when he may retire he said , when every American has health care. Go Dave!

8. I CANNOT believe that the Obey amendment is going to lose!!!
Not only that--some Dems voted against it. Murtha (D-PA) opposed. And I suspect that not a single R voted for it. The point is accountability. Obey said that if they roll over and just give BushCo* what they want, they (House Appropriations Cmte) will be no better than the board of Enron. How can those opposing Obey's amendment face their constituents? Because this stuff never gets reported (--except maybe later on NOW?).

My God! Zach Wamp (R-TN) also had an amendment demanding reporting and accountability but Bush* took him aside and personally told him yesterday that reporting takes time that will endanger the mission in Iraq, so he's withdrawing the amendment! Wamp also wanted some of the money to be a loan--problem with that is that Iraq doesn't have a constituted govt yet, and Bush* doesn't want to say when that will happen (--because, I believe, they don't yet know how long it will take to completely privatize and hollow out Iraq.)

Clearly, the majority (the Republicans) are just swallowing the Bush line. They are shameless. Won't challenge Bush* on ANY point of policy. They don't even care to demand to KNOW what is being planned.

Does anyone know where to go to get transcripts of these House (and Senate) hearings?
