DeLay and Hastert blocking the will of the people....FCC rulings.
From Move On:

On September 16, we won an historic victory. In response to 3 million
Americans like you who contacted the FCC and Congress demanding a rollback,
the Senate voted by an overwhelming bipartisan margin -- 55 to 40 -- to
strike down the entire package of FCC media ownership rule changes through a
"resolution of disapproval."

Now Republican leaders in the House -- Speaker Dennis Hastert and Majority
Leader Tom DeLay -- are rejecting the democratic process. Hastert says he
has no plans to allow a vote on the resolution in the House (see article
below), and DeLay has called it "dead on arrival." They won't permit a
vote because they don't want it to pass.

Your phone call is the only way to force a vote. We need you to make two
calls today.

First, please call your Representative at:

Representative Adam H. Putnam
DC Phone: 202-225-1252

Let the staffer you speak with know that you're a constituent. Then ask
him or her to sign on to the letter calling on the Speaker to allow a
floor vote on the Resolution of Disapproval regarding the FCC media
ownership rule changes.

Then please call Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert or Majority Whip
Tom Delay and ask them to stop blocking a vote.

You can reach them at:

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert
(202) 225-0600

Majority Leader Tom DeLay
(202) 225-4000

Let the staffer you speak with know that you're calling to urge the Speaker
and Majority Leader to allow a vote on the resolution of disapproval
regarding the FCC's media ownership rule changes. You may want to add that
by not allowing a vote, the Speaker and Majority Leader are ignoring the
will of the public, the courts and their own colleagues. (The resolution is
SJ Res 17, sponsored by Representative Leach)

Dorgan and Lott with all the letters we wrote. Now DeLay and Hastert are trying to block the will of the people.

2. fcc
Maybe we could also remind them they work for us, not the president. If they cannot work for us it is time for them to resign.

3. The best way to sock it to them is to call all wingnut radio talk shows.
and raise the issue so that the listening audience can learn about the tactics of the Repugs. many of them are ignorant of the issue.

4. and buy into the librul media lie, for a moment
then you can scare the repubian sheep by saying that this ruling will allow the librul media even MORE power and coverage than it has now...

if they're going to believe the myth anyway, may as well use it against them... akido politics :-)

5. Well, geez, I just called their offices......they are "not aware"?
They were not real sure what I was talking about. DeLay's office, especially was in denial. I read the quote by DeLay about being "dead in the water." I got "not sure that is what he said."

I said you mean the Boston Herald got it wrong? I got "Oh no, I just was not aware."

I told her I could not vote for Delay, but to show my unhappiness I could vote "out" my own congressman. I said that was an issue DeLay and Hastert needed to face. They would be hurting their own party.
