Any Dem candidate would just say, remember the good years when Rubin was part of the great economy of the Clinton years. Well if you want those years back, elect so and so and we will get back to the good years.

I remember there was talk that Gore tried to get him but Rubin was unwilling.

I think Bob Rubin, like Gene Sperling, is advising several candidates on economic matters. I'm pretty sure that both were involved in crafting Clark's jobs proposal.
