Possible African American Liberal might become next US Illinois Senator

I reccommend everyone to check out this persons site. His name is Barack Obama and he's a professor of Constitutional Law at University of Chicago. He seems pretty liberal and might replace the same seat Mosley Braun had. I think it's about time we had an African American in the Senate.

He seems pretty liberal on the issues. He is in favor of renegoitating trade agreements with other countries so that labor and environmental standards could be put in them. He is also in favor of abolishing the Patriot Act. He is also the only Illinois Senate Candidate to oppose the War on Iraq. He doesn't mention anything about Gay rights on his website, but I've checked out his record and he's in favor of them. However, I wouldn't know anything about civil unions. He also needs to clarify his posistion on Israel and Palestine.

He's second right now in the primary for the Democratic slot on the ballot, but he's first amongst the people who researched their candidate already.

In essense, I think he could be the next Wellstone people (except that he probably wouldn't pull out of NAFTA or the WTO). What do you think? If I was from Illinois, I would support him.

7. Senate Primary is WIDE Open

I'm more than a little concerned that Barack Obama seems to be too cozy with Mayor Richard Daley. Daley is NOT a democrat (small D), and he is a DINO. (Yes, I know Daley has a D next to his name, but he is a blight on our party, in my humble opinion.)

It's anyone's race to win. I personally like Nancy Skinner.

Just make sure we get this seat people. We are likely to lose at least 2 of Georgia, South Carolina and Louisiana (if Breaux goes). We can win one maybe with a dynamic candidate.

PA is a possibility, but very slight if Specter makes it through the Reich Wing attack on him.

We need to get this Illinois seat in the fold. Can we recall Norm Coleman yet? To think he has Senator Wellstone's (arguably the greatest Senator we have seen in 30 years) seat still makes my head hurt.

Jim Nighthorse Campbell in Colorado has raised next to nothing. Possible pickup.

Don Nickles is retiring in Oklahoma where Brad Carson (popular Congressman) will run for his seat. 50-50 race.

Tony Knowles in Alaska WILL win that state for the first time in for friggin ever.

Other possibilities, Kentucky and Missouri.
