KobeKobeKobeKobe-2 dead in Iraq-DC snipers- KobeKobeKobeKobe
That is how NBC lead off the Today Show this morning. After the news brief they had two lawyers on to talk about KobeKobeKobe and they had a former girlfriend from high school on in the second half hour.

KobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobeKobe

I can see how this is important in this time of world peace, economic stability, and high morals in the White House............

2. Yeah, don't worry. This will all change....
Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 07:58 AM by dennis4868
if it ever comes out that Clinton cheated on his wife again. Then the Kobe story will die down. I mean we are losing our boys and women in battle everyday in Iraq based on a lie, the country is completely fallin apart economically and we have criminals/leakers in the white house, a vice president making money of this war and all we get from the so called "liberal" media is Kobeeeeee!

7. They don't WANT to be....
wakened. They're morons. Rational thought is alien to them. The founders of this country posited an electorate that was informed and concerned. (Admittedly they limited it to land-owning males) that took their responsibilities seriously. How could they imagine the incredibly stupid populace we have now? The more people are 'educated' the LESS they know. They respond to emptyness, crassness, and insipidness. Look at popular 'music' today: semi-organized noise for the very-most part, devoid of content, either musical or spiritual. Look at the sheer vulgar vacuity of most movies: the target audience has the mental maturity of 11-year-olds.
We with at least some perceptive strengths are doomed.

14. Welcome to DU
Very well "said".

The acute vapidness of people amazes me. It really shouldn't but when you mention to someone who just said that W seems like a normal type guy yaknow he has a ranch and so forth and I mention that the "ranch" is a pig farm and the former owners still own the livestock and equipment and ask if they have ever seen W on a tractor and mention that he only moved in there in February of 2000 as a campaign ploy their eyes gloss over and they say "Yeah but like I said he seems like a nice guy".

Maybe that is his trump card-he is as uninterested in what is going on and is not concerned about learning as they are.

6. Another Bush* Frame-up
Bush and his racist cronies are behind this whole Kobe business. Look at the timing which is perfect to distract from failures in Iraq and the economy.

It a win-win for the White House because they can distract the media from real news and tarnish the reputation of a prominent african-american.

11. Please....
part of the problem in this country is the adulation of sports-thugs, who believe that their physical skills exempt them from the rules that the rest have to follow. It has NOTHING to to with race: there are more blacks in sports and white sport-'heroes' get every break too. It's all part-and-parcel of the same mindless ethos that I posited in my earlier post on this thread.

12. Welcome to DU
but it's hard to blame Rove for Kobe's mess,
as much as we'd like to blame the world spinning
in the wrong direction on this administration.

They have plenty to account for as it is.

5. You got that right.
Yesterday from time to time I'd flip on CNN or MSNBC to see the latest news -- both were All Kobe All the Time.

Do that many people REALLY care THAT much about Kobe that he's worth 24/7 coverage? What's REALLY going on here?

13. I don't watch TV....
News. I haven't watched LOCAL 'news' for at least 20 years. ABSOLUTE drivel about 90% of the time. Stopped watching network nesw about 5 years ago. NEVERNEVERNEVERNEVERNEVER watched the cable morons. Still occasionally watch Lehrer on PBS.
The news in not designed to inform, but to obfuscate and control. AND, OF COURSE, TO MAKE MONEY.

And that study of the ingnorance of viewers two or three days ago PROVES that their intention is to misinform.
