Only 5 of the smileys need to become frownies for Arnold's "mandate" to evaporate.

1. But Normally a 55-45 Victory in Politics is Called a Landslide
Thre reality is that most all elections are played between the 40 yard lines

5. I always find the peculiar (though true)
If you had a party and asked people what they wanted and 55% said Vanilla ice cream and the other 45% said strawberry, you wouldn't get Vanilla exclusively.

6. Not a landslide,
but certainly a decisive victory nonetheless.

4. Out of 100 CA Voters who voted for the Gropenator
These will soon discover they made a stupid decision:

Out of 1 CA governor

These are admirers of Hitler, good friends with Ken Lay, and believe that all women are no more than objects to play with:

7. 5 smilies, yes
But those five smilies represent 399,485 voters. The chance that that many voters will "cross over" seems less likely every day.

Still, a good analysis.

9. A lot of votes were for removing Davis
and actually less about The Predator.

11. There was only 1 mandate
The people wanted Gov Davis out. Arnold only recieved 46.9% of the vote, that's hardly a mandate.

I like the smiley analogy though.
