Did Limbaugh truly ever have a cochlea implant or was that detox?

I don't know if you guys remember, but Rush had a hard time talking before his surgery--he slurred words and generally seemed incoherent on his show before he supposedly had ear surgery.

Could it have been the drugs that were making him slur--thick tongued--and then he didn't really leave for surgery, but to go to detox?

Remember, he was miraculously cured...was his hearing cured, or was it really his drug addiction that was dealt with during that "time off" of his show, when he had a guest host?

I have known people who have had addictions to painkillers as a result of REAL injuries. They got over their addiction and had no ill effects to their hearing.

I remember that very well! The excuse for his incoherence was his ear and supposedly he was going to have surgery. Well, I remember when he came back, they wouldn't talk about it, and a lot of people alluded that the whole surgery was a sham.
