We should simply point out their grammatically incorrect usage of the word "Democrat" with the word "Party". Both are nouns and cannot be used to describe a noun. Of course, Republican can be used as a noun and an adjective - is it because they are two-faced? :)

Just because English has slimed into a morass of colloquialisms and grammatically incorrect usage in this country, doesn't mean that there aren't proper and commonly accepted rules of usage. Journalists like Judy Woodward and especially Bob Novak, who uses the noun democrat as an adjective all the time, should be especially careful of their grammar if they are to maintain any credibility as journalists. Of course they have already proved themselves to be hacks anyway and this is one of many reasons they are so. These errors makes me believe that they got their journalism degrees out of the same Sear's catalog that Bush and Schwarzenegger got their MBA's.

My favorite example is the phrase steel factory. If you mean a factory made of steel, then you have an adjective modifying a noun. If you mean a factory where steel is made, then you have a noun modifing another noun. It's perfectly respectful use of the English language. For a truly horrible (yet grammatical) example, try: Microscoft Office Products Division computer.

Democrats will continue to lose the information war unless they realize:

1. Winning arguments isn't always about logic. Dems tend to believe that winning an argument is simply about neatly laying out their facts, which is why right wingers continue to beat our heads in on all the pundit shows.

2. Symbolism means everything. Dems tend to believe that "only the big things matter". Exhibit A is the Confederate Flag. Dems will say that it's not that important because there are bigger fish to fry. But symbolism is the biggest issue of all because it influences mass thinking. Repubs understand this and will continue to focus on the "little things" that Dems think to be unimportant. That is why the right has taken over: they saw "entertainment media" (cable, radio, etc) as the most important venue for getting out their message, where the left thought of it as unimportant. There are countless other examples.

The whole "Democrat" deal reminds me of an article in my local newspaper where environmentalists were referred to as "enviros" - to me the latter is a slang term invented by foes of environmentalists, although I couldn't find any definitive proof. I did google "enviros" and came up with 99% anti-environmentalist tripe in the first several pages of results. So I e-mailed the editor.
