A simple question to you Right-Wing lurkers and trolls
This probably won't get answered, because the nature of a lurker is to remain hidden. And a troll does not want to reveal their true affiliation.

But in light of Rish's admission following Arnie's election, I just gotta ask.

Why do you condone and excuse and "understand" and forgive drug addicts, sexual predators, excessive gamblers and other forms of bad behavior when it is a conservative? Especially since you hate liberals for being "bleeding hearts" towards people with the same problems, or you accuse us of being degenerate?

It seems like massive hypocricy.

1. Come on, Armstead!
You answered your own question. Give them at least a chance to come up with a completely ludicrous response!

2. I'll answer for them:
Goebbels v2.0 has rendered them insensible to the dconcepts of conscience, hypocrisy, or shame. They have no critical thinking skills, if they ever had the, they've been long ago burned away.

Here's how the Bushevik mind works (well, the slavish Dittoheads, Freepers and Brownshirts...though I repeat myself):

Information (true or false) from outlets of the Party-Approved Right-Wing Sub-Media:

Automatically Accepted Without Question

Information from all other sources:

(if it deviates from Bushevik Party Line) Automatically Rejected Without Question

How hard the Busheviks cling to a principle or point of view:

Belief held in ironclad fashion until Party-Approved Sub-Media tells them to believe the 180 degree opposite. Then they immeditaly adopted the 180 degree opposite view automatically and without question.

Examples: Fiscal Responsibility/Deficits; Sex Offenses by the Powerful

(there are many more but I won't bother because my point is irrefutably made by these two examples of what Orwell called "Doublethink")

3. I can tell you what Kim Serafin (RW pundit) said on MSNBC:
She said that everything is ok now but hypocrisy, as demonstrated by Arnold supposedly coming clean and wiping all his sins away.

SO....They accuse Dems of all sorts of things that aren't true and because we don't come clean we are GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY of HYPOCRISY!!!!

But now they can do ANYTHING and if they just admit it, ALL IS FINE.

I'm going to pull my hair out now....

8. They only come clean when they get caught
Rush would probably happily popping pills today and pulling the wool over the eyes of his gullible listeners if he hadn;t been exposed in the National Enquirer.

Arnold didn't say a damn word or give any apologies until the LA Times wrote about his little indiscreet habit of grabbing women by their private parts.

But only if you are a Republican.

4. Denial: Here's an answer from the Dark Side (Free Republic):
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/998915/posts?q=1&&page=1#1

As a conservative who has known Rush for many years, I will only offer this: Rush does not abuse drugs of any sort and any rumors that he has are simply not true.

I have discussed at length over the past week the rumors and the press story and unfortunately for the Enquirer, Rush will ultimately be very wealthy and a news editor of sorts come 6 mos. from now.

The bottom line is that there is an agenda here, and we are trying to figure out exactly why and what we are dealing with.

22. Amazing how they will vehemently deny it...
"It's not true. Rush isn;t an addict, so stop saying that."

Then when it comes from the horses's mouth, they'll do even more gyrations to justify it.

6. simple
It's not about ideology, it's about winning

They only hide behind ideology to suit themselves. Examples:

"Metrosexuals are proof that manhood is under attack by the left"

can not fit with

"Bill Clinton is a sexual predator as are all Democrats because they have no values"

Similarly,

"All women on the left are hairy-legged birkenstock wearers"

can not fit with

"The Hollywood left oversexualizes women and attacks our families with Britney's tummy"

People vote their tribal identity; not their ideology. People don't have ideology. Understand that, and you understand how the right believes what it believes and doesn't think it is being hypocrtical to do so.

But I would think even a tribal identity would have somne consistency to it.

11. May I try to answer?
They perceive our reaction to Rush as a form of hypocrisy, also. We are so eager to forgive Clinton but attack Arnie. We are eager (?? were we, I don't recall this) to forgive Robert Downey, but not Rush.

First, I do see a big difference between Clinton and Arnie, but on the surface it is the fact they are both womanizers. SEcond, as for the drug use, our reaction is more about trying to get them to admit that sending user abusers to jail is a waste when they can be rehabilitated and brought back into society.

13. That's the poiint
The right wing vultures attack liberals for being too soft-hearted and tolerant, and for enabling bad behavior by being soft on people like drug addicts. Wingnuts say -- in most cases -- throw em in jail and toss away the key.

But when one of their own gets caught, they become sooooooo understanding and tolerant.

15. They also frame their badness in terms which hide fact it's bad.

I forget all the details of Bill Bennet NOT being a high stakes gambler (yeah, right) and the myriad of other foibles of the fascists.

But, the most current is this: a FELONY (which verges on being treasonous) by the white house, but Bush & fascists call it a "leak".

What's a leak? A leak is an, "oops, the cup has a crack" or "oops, my prostate isn't what it once was". Leaks are accidents that you fix.

An intentional act which is a felony isn't the same thing as a leak, yet the administration (with the media playing right along) push the "oops" perception of what happened.

They do the opposite with liberals. To them, a haircut which didn't even happen, or damage to AF1 which never happened, and felatio are all high crimes and misdemeanors.

Edited on Fri Oct-10-03 04:28 PM by Armstead
with a WILLING intern and the right wing hypocrites go into overdrive to prove how moral they are.

Teddy Kennedy has too many drinks, and the Repugs vilify him.

Rush gets caught buying illegal drugs to feed his addiction, and they are soooooooo supportive. After all, anyone can get caught in the trap of drug addiction. It's a sickness not a crime.

Makes me want to vomit.

18. Simple answer.
Because

CONSERVATIVES ARE EVIL.

Period, end.

And DUer's, don't lecture...I don't have to be nice to or about conservatives, freepers, dittoheads and their ilk. I gave them that courtesy once and will NEVER make that mistake again. Give the elephants a break and they will run right over you. This donkey's kicking back!

19. Conservatism is certainly EVIL....
But some of its believers--not the LEADERS--who should all and without exception be considered CONSCIOUS and WILLING MINIONS OF SATAN...but the "followers"--the bumpkins and freepr=poster, ditto-head drones, etc., are just as likely to be stupid, ignorant, or uneducated as they are to be EVIL.

They are, in a word, pathetic, and should be pitied.

THAT DOES NOT EXCUSE THEIR EVIL DEEDS, however.

23. Oooh, oooh, oooh! Can I be a troll this week?
Bill Bennett was not in any way addicted to gambling, and any suggestion that he had a jones is false. He was merely indulging in a hobby, and just as sportsfishermen and golfers pay vast sums per year on their interests, so did he. At no time was he compulsive, and he didn't endanger the family finances or any of his other obligations through this hobby.

The housekeeper may have dealt thousands of pills a month, but she's just trying to cop a plea by claiming Limbaugh ate them all. Limbaugh quite properly took the pills as prescribed for physical ailments, and may perhaps have overindulged a bit, but never to his or anyone else's detriment.

Arnold is an Austrian, and it is quite common throughout large parts of Europe to express friendship, appreciation, and a bit of flirting by being physical. Arnold did nothing more than is done a thousand times a day on the streets of Venice, and should be considered as cross-cultural education.
