Recall Results Put Focus Back on Voting Machines

California's historic recall vote came off this week with relatively few disruptions, but surveys of the ballots are finding thousands that did not register a vote for or against the recall. Critics of punch card ballots pounced on that result Friday to argue for newer voting machines. But the reliability of alternative technologies is also in dispute. NPR's Pam Fessler reports.

1. Could Californians demand a recount?
Please say we can demand it.

2. Any registered voter can demand a recout....
...but you have to pay for it.

Yet Hotwire Issa could demand a recall and NOT have to pay for it. No justice.

4. Why hasn't Bustamante or other Dem asked for a recount?
Do Dems really trust these Republican owned voting companies and support a system that can't be properly validated?

Dem disinterest troubles me far more than the protests of these voting companies.

3. Thanks for the link.
I caught part of the show, but not the beginning. Must listen for those interested in true democracy.
