Officials told to 'back off' on Saudis before September 11

by Greg Palast and David Pallister

FBI and military intelligence officials in Washington say they were prevented for political reasons from carrying out full investigations into members of the Bin Laden family in the US before the terrorist attacks of September 11.

US intelligence agencies have come under criticism for their wholesale failure to predict the catastrophe at the World Trade Centre. But some are complaining that their hands were tied.

FBI documents shown on BBC Newsnight last night and obtained by the Guardian show that they had earlier sought to investigate two of Osama bin Laden's relatives in Washington and a Muslim organisation, the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), with which they were linked.

The FBI file, marked Secret and coded 199, which means a case involving national security, records that Abdullah bin Laden, who lived in Washington, had originally had a file opened on him "because of his relationship with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth - a suspected terrorist organisation".

was a disappointment

PBS focused way too much on personality of O'Neill.

PBS never mentioned the French book authors who
talked to O'Neill about Bush ordering FBIto 'back-off'
Bin Laden investigation.

FRONTLINE failed to report what Greg Palast of BBC and
the French intelligence agents - Jean-Charles Brisard, Guillaume Dasquie had done, the FRONTLINE investigation failed to report how GWBush had forced O'Neill to quit in disgust.

FRONTLINE NEVER reported on the Carlyle Group ties
and ownership by the Bin Ladens and Bush SR.

PBS NEVER reported FBI O'Neill quit because the constraints placed by the BushJR administration on investigating any Bin Laden family members.

FRONTLINE failed to report
O'Neill may have been hampered while Clinton was President from
the rt-wing FBI administrators tied to GOP oil interests, But through O'Neill's direct contacts with Attorney General Janet Reno,
he was trying to bypass the rt-wing FBI director's ties to
the BushSR Oil Cabal to provide President Clinton with unbiased or unslanted reports that FBI Freeh would not give Clinton.

FRONTLINE failed to report that
Rt-wing FBI director Freeh was busy spending more money and more FBI manhours investigating Clinton's sex life than the US Cole bombing
and the Pam Am bombing COMBINED.

FRONTLINE failed to report that
O'Neill quit NOT under Clinton Presidency, But quit in disgust once
the court-appointed pResident BushJR made investigating the bin Ladens impossible once Bush seized the White House in a rt-wing coup
in election 2000.

FRONTLINE failed to report the most damning information
of Bush administration
