My simple email to DIEBOLD
Edited on Sat Oct-11-03 10:06 PM by GOPBasher
I emailed DIEBOLD. Here's the email address I sent it to: susan@dieboldes.com

Here's the text of my message:

To whom it may concern:

I'm concerned about the integrity of your voting
systems. Are there any security measures to protect
against fraud? It seems particularly simple for one
of your programmers to make the code such that, for
example, every 5th vote for candidate A goes to
candidate B -- or every 4th vote, or 6th. If that
happened, how would anyone know? After all, there
aren't any paper trails so that voters can be certain
they voted for the candidates of their choice. If the
votes are tallied in files in the computer, the
programmers can tamper with them easily. What
safeguards are there to ensure that the votes are
tallied properly?

Thanks
Frank

We must do something about this. I'm starting to think that cheating will be the only way Chimp can win in 2004.

2. here is the text of mine

To whom it may concern.

I am seriously concerned about the safety and security of the vote in the United States, since your GEMS system is easily crackable...

I am concerned that one vote and person is no longer going to be part of this nation.

There is a simple solution and you should implement it NOW ... paper trails.

It is easy, and I do not walk away from the ATM without a receipt, why should I do same from a voting machine?

Yes, the integrity and trust of the US electoral system is now in your hands.

Sincerely,

Nadin Abbott

3. anyone thought bout pushing legislators...
... for making it mandatory to have paper trails on voting machines? im sure thiers support for it, anyone that comes out against it will not look too honest lol. it would be quite simple... run it like a cash register till, one recipt is printed out for the voter and another one is kept inside the machine itself or something to that affect.

who would one talk to about such things, as far as getting a lobby going... aclu or somone? any ideas?

If your congresscritter isn't on the list, have you asked them to support it yet? Please do. We need bi-partisan support for this bi-partisan issue.
