Jesus Christ I hate the name "Indian Reserve"...

Let's call it an "Indian community" instead. (I prefer the name Indian. It comes from "In Dios" and refers to them being a "people close to God")

Damn positive even though it was crapped out of Columbas' posterior.

2. I guess that works...
It respects that they weren't indigenous while still giving them credit for being the first to live here.

3. My family still says Indian...
'Native American' is just weird to me. Kind of like 'Jewish American' or Cajun American. There's just something wrong about it.

Surprised, with this admin's spin, it hasn't been renamed "Native American Modernization Freedom Housing"

4. I can see how that could work...
Liebermanite faux-Dems love bigotry for the sake of political correctness.

6. Remember though...
Until relatively recently, India was known as Hindistan.

8. And "Hin-di" is of the same derivation as the Latin
In-Dios?

Is that your contention. It seems to me that "India" is related to "Hindi." Do you have some etymological justification for your "In-Dios" claim? And wouldn't it be misnaming in any case? Why is it better if the term has some Indo-European religious connotation rather than being simply a geographical mistake on the part of the initial conquerors? it's the conqueror's term in either case.

7. Our people.
In English anyway. All languages point to "our people".

9. I prefer to call them "natives" or "native Americans"
The term "Indian" seems like a continuation of the ignorance in which Columbus thought he found India, a claim he stubbornly hung onto until his death.

It simply means the people. Who are you to push the european "dio" upon anyone?

I prefer la kota.
