Rush wins even on the day he admits(reposted from last night)

He has made all of our canidates act as if he is the one they are running against. They mention him all the time as if he is the shrub that needs to be defeated. He, even in his drug use has succeeded in making a mockery out of the Dem party and us at DU. I know that he knew that we would all be saying hateful crap about him today, so he again mentioned DU on air today and this time he said it right. Democraticunderground.com instead of the other day he said democratunderground.com.

You know that many have come to this site(which can be read without signing in). They see all the HATE talk and leave believing that that is what DU is and the heart of the democrats feel this way.

Rush is a radio personality and an entertainer and why do all our canidates let him get to them? And he duped all of us on here by mentioning this site on the day he announced. All his people came by here and saw the hate talk and said see how the democrats are.

He succeded in making more problems even in his own scandel. IMHO

Rush has to be accountable for his hypocrisy.

He's an oppurtunistic PT Barnum contemporary; Of course he'll try to take as many of us "Liberals, lefties, progressives, etc.." down with him. Ruin us, try to take us down with the ship so to speak.

Yet, I have a feeling that his drug connections are going to drown out most of the anger of the people on this board.

So Let them come, and if they have any "Principles", they will hold Rush to his hypocrisy's as much as some of us hold him.
Afterall, personal responsability is more than just 1 simple on-air apology. If he broke the law, he must pay.

Show the man mercy for his addiction becuase mercy is more powerfull than hate, but still hold him responsable for his actions, what he has said, his hypocrisy, and for breaking the law.

He has not won anything, until he can admit that he has been lying to himself and to manipulating his listeners all these years. I feel pity for his self-deception.

I've gotten three e-mails from conservative friends since Rush's show on Friday. They all came here and saw the nasty stuff (wishes for him to die in withdrawals, hopes that his withdrawals would be agony, etc.) and have basically dared me to defend my long-standing position that MY party is the party of compassion.

I can't. No matter how much damage he's done to civil discourse in this country, he's still a human being, and very few progressives here are acting like they remember that.

I'm at a loss as to how defend the compassion of my party.

You don't have to defend what some people have said on this board.

If your friends honestly think that the few peolpe with ill-will on this board represent all of us then rush has done his job of manipulating them well.

They are just eating into the over-generalizations that Rush has fed his lisetners for the past 13 years about liberals, the lefty, progressives, etc...

No matter what, Rush is still responsable for being a hypocrite and may have taken part in criminal drug pruchases (evidence pending).

Go to any political board and you'll find indefensible posts.


Look for the many statements by Rush on druggies and lawbreakers. Your conservative friends are wondering where the compassion is for someone who refused to extend it to others.

Send them quotes by Rush. Ask them about Rush's compassion for a young girl who was an environmental activist who fell from a tree awhile back. A NYT's business editor who commited suicide. Vince Foster.

These were people who lost their lives and had family and friends who missed them terribly.

His nastiness towards a President's 13 year old daughter who had never done anything to hurt him or anyone else.


Send your conservative friends compassionate posts from people here with the reminder that Rush showed these same people nothing but disdain, nastiness, and hatred because their politics were to the left of his.

They'll deflect from Rush's sordid and illegal behavior to make it all about liberals if you let them.

5. Rush is a very powerful politican...don't let his on-air act fool you.

A lot of people in power are really scared that their voice of HATE might be lost because his housekeeper TAPED him during illegal drug deals. It doesn't matter what his ditto monkeys think about it, or us (DU) - the truth is that he is a scared little puppy and will do anything to distract his braindead fans...I personally think he is telling them about DU because we are really hitting close to home with Rush. Like O'Rielly, Rush is a thin skinned non-entity who gets mad when people speak the truth. I for one hope he rots in jail with the people he condemed for drug use.

and then attacks them back? What fun. Rush has never entered into a debate without someone who microphone he couldn't yank. He and all Republicans are intellectual cowards because they cannot face a fair debate.

I have no sympathy for evil people who happen to abuse drugs, and in fact if their evil is ended by drugs, I am still in favor of ending their evil. Rush Limbaugh is an evil man. He has no compassion for people in need, he demonizes others with no opporunity for them to reply, and he lies constantly. Rush is evil and anything that reduced his evil is welcome.

When Republicans get caught cold boinking the sheep, they twist the issue just so, and viola... it's reframed to point back at Democrats. And true to form, we bumblefark ourselves while they stand by and clap.
