Read this elitist, arrogant post intended to attract a WSJ troll/editorial
writer.
I am really smarter and better than people who are not DU members.

Since these kind of posts are not deleted, I assume DU validates this type of thinking, indeed promotes it, by leaving them published.

So, since I now know that it is OK to say these kind of things, I want everyone to know how superior we at DU are. Those dumb normal people on the outside are so beneath us. Who cares if WSJ uses this post or Rush uses it to "make us look bad". We are superior. So who cares.

Right? No?? Well, then why are posts that sound JUST like the above allowed to remain? Something is wrong around here.

2. who is "they"?
I am expressing dismay at the fact THIS kind of shit is obviously OK around here.....but now if you use the F word in a post, THAT gets deleted.

Yes, saying "bleep" is SOOOoooo much worse than arrogant, priggish, elitism, isn't it people?

Keee-bleeping-riced.

God damn it, I want to say fuck so bad I can taste it!!!

OOOPS

4. it's ok to say fuck
just not in the subject line of a new post in GD.

And, this is a message board, what one person writes does not reflect the opinion of the people running the board nor the others who participate. It is only one person opinion. There is a new post to one of the many threads in GD every 30 seconds or so, you can't seriously expect the mods to censor every post for content so that someone wanting to pick and choose can't possibly find some negative connotation.

I think your effort would be better served writing a LTTE to the WSJ explaining just that.

9. Actually there can be no profanity in any part of the lead post.
Here is the rule:

2. The subject line of a discussion thread and the entire text of the message which starts the thread may not include profanity, excessive capitalization, or excessive punctuation. Inflammatory rhetoric should also be avoided. Exceptions may be allowed for threads about our shared political opponents and/or policies which we generally oppose.

If I hated it as badly as you seem to, I would leave or take a break. I approve of the no profanity in General Discussion Thread Titles and intros.

I as well as others have responded to the "we are smarter" posts by posting our disagreements with that kind of idea.

Your starting a new thread about this seems just as silly to me as what you are writing about.

Finally, if you want to ask about DU policies there is the "Ask the Administrators" forum.

8. You are not bothered that the fascist news outlets grab this stuff
for wider publication in order to give us a black eye?

Yeah I "hate" that. But i won't take you up on your offer to leave. My question is why are you more upest at me, than you are of the arrogant fucks who post their superiority rants? Why not invite them to leave? Hmmm? Or is it that you do believe we are superior to the "normal" people?

3. You know what bothers me?
Not that the "Mainstream" press grabs something off here when someone is blowing off frustration or propping themselves up with a little "superior dance", but that they never seem to notice when somebody posts something thought-provoking and insightful...

Oh, DUH, what am I saying? If they did that, then we wouldn't look like easy-to-marginalize misfit cranks, would we?

there used to be an old biker saying, "When we do Right, no-one remembers, when we do WRONG, nobody forgets..."
