America luvs a Winner. Bush Problema: He looks like a LOSER
Edited on Mon Oct-13-03 01:20 AM by opihimoimoi
The Pubs are facing this with dire concern.

They injected Arnold into the scene because he personifies a WINNER, never mind his groping, etc. Its the PERCEPTION.

But with Bush, as the Iraqi thingy continues to sour, the deception of the WMD during the SOTU address, the LEAK, etc etc the perception is that of a LOSER. You can your last doobie the boys in the Basement, Karen Hughes, Rove, etc are all coniving ways to make Bush appear a Winner. While not impossible, improbable.

All the money in the world, all the lipstick, will not make this pig beautiful. He, in fact, is a LOSER. He let Osama outfox him. He let the French/Germans out play him, He let the UN subdue him with tepid applause and no money/troops. The tax cut for the rich is playing for what it really is, a give a way to those in six and seven figures.

There are ways for the Bush to come out of this and change the perception but the Pubs are flummoxed.

They got one chance: Play the Gary Bauer Card. LOL, or maybe Orin Hatch who wants to change our laws so Arnie can run for Prez.

Come, we go hunting for Bears, bring your knife.

Edited on Mon Oct-13-03 02:48 AM by opihimoimoi
Like the Psuedo Prez who is a Arnie wannabe, but regulated to second string Pulp White House?

Or Henchman Rove, consumed for power/recognition/attention who uses a perfekt puppet who share a common element, arrogance.

Come, we light the fires of Common Sense For the Common Good. There just has to be a better way/system. How can we improve the ole model we got? We need a Constitutional Convention!!??? Das another thread.

38. I like this. It seems now, he's trying too hard. Which never works.
there's a whiff of desperation in the air around Bush.

Kind of like .... a single man, who can't get a date to save his life. Because, well, he's single, he really wants to get a date. Women can smell this and they shun it.

Keep trying, Bush!

if the whistleass is unable to lead and unify his cabinet - how can he lead and unify the country?

We have the Whistleass, Crashcart-Cheney, Rummy, Powell, Rice all giving speeches/press conferences and all are saying different and conflicting things

the message is coming through loud and clear - the whistleass is NOT leading

18. Caught in the cross-fire, Bush’s free ride is over.

Meltdown?
It’s not just the CIA scandal. The latest data on jobs, poverty and the uninsured are all combining to paint a picture of a Bush administration in disarray

by Eleanor Clift

Oct. 3 -- The zeitgeist is shifting. Liberal books are moving up the best-seller list. Rush Limbaugh is getting disparaged for racial insensitivity and allegedly buying illegal drugs. And the controversy over administration officials leaking the identity of an undercover CIA operative has put conservatives in the indefensible position of condoning treason.

THE SPY STORY engulfing the White House is the catalyst for the Bush meltdown. But we wouldn’t be obsessing over who sanctioned and spread political dirt if the Bush team had found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The ballooning scandal is a symptom and not the cause of Bush’s problems.

--snip--

The Iraq war clearly will cost more than the $87 billion that has caused such angst on Capitol Hill. Bush never prepared the American people for this. As soon as Baghdad fell, Bush was pushing for the elimination of double taxation on stock dividends. Instead of landing on the USS Lincoln, he should have landed in the well of Congress and said this was only the beginning of a long, hard struggle. In addition to worrying about civil war in Iraq between the Sunnis and the Shiites, the dam has broken here at home. The career intelligence professionals at the CIA, closing ranks around one of their own, are openly warring against the administration ideologues. Caught in the cross-fire, Bush’s free ride is over.

26. Now that is a Great Read!
Thanks Rad!....My favorite part....

<snip> A Senate GOP backer of the Iraq war says the Justice Department probe is eroding voter confidence in the president. “Bush promised to restore honor and integrity to the Oval Office. This is diminishing him. He looks smaller, less commanding.” The GOP source says he is disgusted by White House efforts to tar Wilson as an antiwar partisan. “The administration moves from honor and integrity to slime and defend,” says this Republican

21. We're Told He's A Winner
I love the post, and hope there's just a shread of reality her

There's two vision of the manchild.

First...there the Repugnican version...the decisive leader, regular guy (who just happens to own a pig farm in Texas), god-feering, honest and so on.

THEN...there's the one the vast majority see...an arrogant, ignorant frat boy who never took a bit of responsibility in his life and is getting more and more disconnected every day.

There are so many destructive things this regime has done...we have to get the message out and keep it out...never let this regime spin away from the hypocrisies and damage they are doing to the vast majority of the people of this country and the planet.
