Did Rush's drug addiction help him lose all that weight?
Edited on Mon Oct-13-03 01:21 AM by Loyal
I was just thinking about Rush, and remembering how he used to be quite fat. He has probably lost at LEAST 50 pounds since the early 90s, probably closer to 100, actually. Did he lose that weight because of oxy-contin? I was thinking that it might be a possibility, but hey, I'm not an doctor, so what do I know. What do you think?

1. Sure the drugs contributed to weight loss. He's a junkie!
I had not seen him for quite some time until recently and I had no idea how much weight he had lost. That loss had to be over the last year or two. I thought he looked terrible. Of course the drugs had something to do with it.

3. yeah, he actually looks not fat now
I would not be surprised if he weighed near 300 pounds at some time, and now he is probably 200 or under.

2. No doubt
These types of drugs tend to kill the appetite. Not in the same way that stimulants do, but in a way that you just don't feel like eating.

Not a recommended diet strategy, though.

7. Mama Cass Elliot
Was a heavy drug user, contributing to her heart attack at a young age. Jerry Garcia wasn't exactly skinny either.

8. I suspect these drugs are the "Hollywood cure" for weight control.
I know very little about oxy-contin. But I do know that it's very difficult to lose serious weight when you you are heavy, over 40 and under stress. Yet both Rush and Bill Clinton lost serious weight under exactly these conditions.

Hollywood abounds with beautiful people who are somehow able to control their weight even when most of our bodies go to pasture. I have always believed there was some secret the stars used for weight control. Something that was perhaps addictive, but non-debilitating. I wouldn't doubt this is the answer. It will be interesting to learn more about this over time.

After my back surgery,I was taking pain pills(Lortab,NOT Oxy),and I lost quite a bit of weight. The pills just killed my appetite...an unexpected bonus.

Apparently Rush was never that interested in women even before he became a drug addict.

16. LIPOSUCTION.. which he got while pretending to get that cochlear
implant that he never got.

See, no hospitals in LA got a record of that fat ass getting that implant.

But he sure got that stomach stapled and liposuction.

Which is what he's getting again while he's doing his spa vacation for the next 30 days.

Bets on he was never addicted to NOTHING.
