5. Ornery.org
www.ornery.org

It's a political forum by the SF writer Orson Scott Card. He's a democrat from the South. He considers himself a moderate, in the dixiecrat sense. The board has been monopolized by conservative Republicans with several occassional vocal liberal Democratic voices. They insist on strict logic in debates, but the board definitely needs more liberals. There are a disproportionate number of conservative republicans on that board, considering that it's a site hosted by a moderate (he's more conservative than moderate in my opinion) democrat. There are a few liberal democrats there, but they need more to balance the board.

The two best aspects of the board is that you get some interesting discussions from the conservatives and liberals knocking heads there, and they value strict logic, no matter what your political opinion. So a lot of the fuzzy logic and character smearing using debunked arguments that goes on in DU would be quickly discredited there. I encourage all of you to check it out. They really need more liberals to fend off the conservatives. Right now, I'd say it's probably 25% liberals, 45% conservatives, the rest moderates and lots of lurkers and in betweeners. It's an eclectic group. You'll find a couple of commie/socialists and a few right wing religious extremists.

Allows both sides to debate. Lively, although a few there seem to dominate.

8. You can find a lot of popular forums at delphi
Some of the forums are connected to about.com as well as a few news forums. The URL is www.delphiforums.com and there is really a treasure trove of forums on just about any topic you can think of. There are a lot of different political forums on delphi as well. I can look for some specific ones in a little bit and post them here. You can find both liberal and conservative forums there.

9. You might want to start here:
http://forums.delphiforums.com/dir-app/nav/ForumDirectory.aspx?webtag=dp-current

Most of the forums have a drop down menu listing other forums popular with the members. It's a really great forum site.
