At the current pace of American fatalities in Iraq, there will be 783 dead American soldiers by the time George W. Bush stands before the voters next November 2nd.
Let me explain the methodology. Since May 2nd, the day after Bush's aircraft carrier pronouncement that major hostilities had ended in Iraq, there has been an average of 1.18 American fatalities per day. Given that there are 385 days until election day next year, at the current pace there will be 783 dead American soldiers on the day that Bush stands before the voters to face their judgement.
This ouught to put the matter in perspective for a lot of people. Regretably, the American public does not care about Iraqi civilian casulites, but when all-American boys start coming home in body bags, seemingly with no end in sight, people will wake up.
