He has confessed to a crime. A SERIOUS crime. Have the police or DA even charged him?

Did Jeb put the total jackboot down on the police?

1. he admitted to no crime...
being addicted isn't a crime.

It appears as if he bought drugs illegally, though, which is a crime. It is being investigated.

4. a felony
if the maid said she got him pills from the street, he's already committed the crime...why is he not in jail awaiting trial?

8. An allegation like that is not sufficient to arrest someone
Unless he's caught red-handed by police accepting meds that were obtained illegally, he could be arrested only after being indicted.

These things take time.

12. DA said they would talk to him after his 30 days - they intended to
ignore the crime it seems - and are already giving out reasons why rich folks who admit the addiction and sign themselves into a spa will be "not an object of investigation".

I do love compassion for the rich druggie.

:-)

17. Well technically, his MAID bought the drugs... so she's guilty of
a crime.

25. It's called "possession with intent to distribute"
If you have lots of dope, intent to distribute is presumptive.

He is a criminal and an addict.

Since he's rich, he's just an addict.

If he were poor, he would be under the fucking jail with no rehab in sight.

7. In jail for breaking what law?
Being addicted to prescription medication is not a crime, as long as the prescription is written for you.

13. He is alleged to havebought them illegally, which is a felony
And the amounts he is alleged to have purchased would make him eligible to be charged with "intent to sell." Intent to sell is what any other person would be charged with for the alleged quantities. There would be jail time for the first offense in such a case unless the perp squealed and makes a deal.

A prescription from a Doctor does not make it legal to buy street pills from your maid.

16. Trafficking is still a felony
lots of addicted people traffic to ease their anxiety over running out. 25,000 pills is a tad extreme.

The MANDATORY sentence in FLA is 25 years. Minimum.

If Rush weren't a rich republican guy we all know where he'd be right this second.

Meanwhile, Tommy Chong is in jail for selling BONGS.

"Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs.
And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs,
they ought to be accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up," pig - 10/5/95

haha

maybe it would be ok if he didnt make his living doing things like... demanding the prosecution of non-violent offenders

That he won't serve jail time if he rats out his dealers.

In which case, he will be killed.

Either way, I am satisfied at Karma's fair and balanced look at the right.

22. Entertainment Tonight!
They just had an article on the criminal and the Bee-atch had the nerve to spin it as much as to basically say "Will Rush become a target of the media?"

FUCK E.T. forever for saying that tripe.

Limbaugh, Stewart, and every other celebrity become targets because they are far more likely to slip out of the legal system, using their fame or wealth in order to do it. They ARE deserving of the attention, but not to the point where the repuke media spins it as it being liberal media.

24. Money
What, do you really think your average American, caught with a quantity of class 1 narcotics like the amount I've heard, would be anywhere besides jail if he didn't have plenty of money to grease wheels? Jail is for the common man, rich guys can buy their way out.
