Profits or patriots?
Why is the US sending it's manufacturing base and our jobs to communist China? I can think of no reasonable justification. I know the labor is cheaper, but how can a flag-waving capitalist rationalize profits over patriotism? And how can this administration allow this corporate treason to continue even after it has identified China as part of the axis of evil?

1. They labelled China as evil?
I thought it was Iraq, Iran, and N. Korea.

5. Because you are their expendable serf
Here is what the capitalists are going to do.

1) They have already moved virtually all heavy industry, furniture, textiles, and electronics manufacturing to China.

2) The next wave of moving all engineering, software development, product research and development, banking, telecom, and financial industry support has started. Within 10 years, it will all be there, just like manufacturing has done already.

3) China meanwhile has developed the ability to put a payload in space. This means they can deliver a nuclear warhead to the continental US.

4) Given a nuclear deterrent to the US, and endless US distractions chasing terrorists that we are creating all over the world, China will be emboldened and attack Taiwan.

5) Coincidentally with the attack on Taiwan, China will announce the nationalization of all industry located on the Chinese homeland, which now includes Taiwan.

6) The flag waving capitalists will call for all American patriots (the same ones whose lives were destroyed in the economic collapse caused by these companies moving their key assets to a foreign country) to join the battle against China to reclaim American property. YOU will be a traitor if you are not willing to save their companies for them. THEY profit at the cost of YOUR blood.

7) What will the reward be to the patriots that manage to wrest American property back from China? Layoff slips as the capitalists move their companies to India or South Africa.

6. Very likely scenario
and what I don't understand is the lack of criticism from the Democratic Party. The Republicans constantly berate us for our positions. They seek out the moral high ground and make examples of our Judicial systems "liberal bias". Here is an issue we can trumpet. They have no defense for their greed and the public knows the good jobs are disappearing. Why don't we pin them to the mat with this issue?

7. Because the Democrats are profiting from this as well.
Clinton and Gore were vociferous supporters of NAFTA and Clinton supported giving favored nation status to China.

I would agree with NAFTA if it were a fair playing ground, and the economies in the countries we traded with rewarded their citizens with a livable wage. But all NAFTA has done is enabled our capitalists access to cheap labor markets, with no resulting rise in their economy. The countries will never represent a market for us before our economy collapses.

So the people that own this country win in a big way. The people that built this country, either through sweat, blood, or taxes, have their investment stolen from them and their children's futures are gone.
