On the radio last night - 2000 Palestinians forced from homes/demolished

Has anyone seen this in mainstream news?

I cannot figure out why we paint this deal so one-sided.

Its wrong.

This whole situation is heart-breaking for both sides, difficult for any American to fully grasp I think, and yet what is happening to the Palestinians has become insufferable. They are being wiped out.

I know its more fundamentalists trying to attempt this terrible act. Fundamentalism and religious extremism are killing this planet.

Palestinians want a place to exist as well. Just like we all do.

Perhaps Im over-simplifying. But I think to get to the core of any problem you have to simplify things.

I dont meant for it to be inflammatory statement - I mean EXACTLY the opposite.

I hope that people will start discussing things more and trying to understand where different sides are coming from. And the reason I said it was one-sided is because I have hardly ever heard anything showing the Palestinians perspective in American media. I think it is being painted in an imbalanced way.

I heard it on KPFK last night. And it was coming from Gaza.

I believe the more get to the truth, the greater chance we will have to heal. The more we deny and turn our heads, the worse it is going to get.

Ever seen history paint the outcome any differently?

4. Our tax dollars at work..
All those billions in foreign aid to Israel.
And I am just so ashamed.
This is not defense of one's right to exist--this is insanity.

...the place in which Palestinians want to exist is already occupied. By Israel.

Solution: FIND ANOTHER PLACE.

8. Wow
Say if some other world power outside of the US was calling the shots and decided the native Americans should have a homeland and your house just happens to be the spot...

The Palestinians didn't have any say when the world powers established Israel on their land. The Palestinians weren't responsible for the Holocaust but it was they who were forced to make the sacrifice. It wasn't like Germany did, or Italy, since it was originally the Romans who drove the Jews out. It wasn't as if the Palestinians don't also have an ancient link to the land--unlike Europeans who seized the land from the native Americans. Abraham came from Iraq, for crying out loud.

So, if the native Americans demanded their homeland where your house stands, you would have even less of an ancient claim compared to any of the semitic tribes who have always resided in the Levant --by that measure of things.
