When did Repub conservatives give up all their beliefs?
When did conservative lose its meaning?

Conservative used to mean small government (* increased government more than any pResident since the new deal).

Conservative used to mean balanced budgets. (No more need be said).

Conservative used to mean ...........

Oh, it's all bullshit. Conservative has always meant take away the ability of the opposition to gain access to the people. Conservative has always meant small minded and small hearted.

I am not a bleeding heart liberal. I am a proud liberal whose heart is with the people who could provide a revival to this country's beliefs.

My heart will never bleed, but it will turn red - blush - at the words of those who have no knowledge or memory of what this country is/was/stood for. My heart grieves at what this country is becoming, but I will only bleed when the unthinking have taken such control that they put a dagger in my heart.

After all, aren't liberals now nothing more than the victims in video games?

1. Bush is not a conventional conservative
I know someone who works for the John Birch Society. He said "Bush is not a conservative, he's just another big spending politician."

3. Bush is beyond that
he is out to destroy what has been built up in this country for the past 60 years. Never mind that what has been created is the greatest civilisation on earth. IT IS A DECAYING SOCIETY! I wonder how they can reconcile the truth with what they say, and the only reason is they go to a medieval church that teaches them hate, and death, and stupidity, and the clear headedness of the elite.

Thank you Jesus and your desciples for giving these ignorant fools a reason for destroying the world. (Sarcasm - of course jesus had nothing to do with it, but it those who promoted this religion hadn't gotten so warped and twisted, this would not be happening).

4. november 1964, when Goldwater got the snot kicked out of him by LBJ
afterwhich traditional conservatism mutated to what could now be referred to as Reaganism, which is a mixture of utopian free-marketism coupled with state interference in the market for the benefit of selected supporters (crony capitalism), the use of judeo-christian identity mythologies and iconography, and strong support of military interventions to defend "free" markets and "not so free" natural resources located outside the USA.

what we now call conservatism is really just another utopian philosophy no more valid than soviet or maoist style communism.

9. GOP has not been "conservative" since Reagan
so I don't know what you mean.

Conservatives are still conservative, but the neocon GOP fully coopted the label "conservative" during tthe late 70's. Neocons are not conservatives though. They are radicals.
