Arrgh! CNN Media Whores!

The "Quick Vote" question on CNN Headline News is "Is the media filtering news from Iraq?"

Of course, they want you to say YES, which to their minds would mean that our Glorious Chimp-in-Chief is right. Which is wrong. But if you say "NO", then you are condoning the horrible, incomplete coverage to date.

CNN HAS been filtering the news from Iraq, but not in the way Chimpy says. Quite the opposite, in fact. Where is the coverage of dead soldier's families? Where are the reports of the funerals? Where is the report of the midnight delivery of the flag draped coffins?

1. They pull that stunt all the time.
I recall many Wolfie polls that are the same kind of misleading question. When the results end up the way they want, it is reported on the show with breathless fervor. When they don't, it's chuckled away as a "non-scientific" poll.

2. Where is their report of the 100s perhaps 1000s of armless & legless
soldiers who have been shuttled out of sight?

3. what a stupid question.
How do we really know? Where do we get our information from again? Oh, yeah, THE MEDIA. The only evidence we have that they are "filtering" the news is because Shrubbie keeps saying so.

4. my e-mail feedback to CNN (using their e-mail response system)
WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT IN YOUR QUICK POLL??????????
Of course the press has filtered the information on Iraq and the "war on terrorism." But NOT filtered to favor Bush's critics. You have consistently lied about what has been going on with the war to cover the administration's actions, not to inform people on what really is going on. Your question IS STUPID: If you say the media has been filtering information it means Bush is right... that is totally false. WHO IS IN CHARGE OR WRITING YOUR QUESTIONS? WHOEVER HE/SHE IS THAT PERSON NEEDS TO BE BETTER TRAINED OR YOU SHOULD STOP THAT SECTION BECAUSE YOU WILL GET MISLEADING RESULTS. Or is that what you want?

6. Yuuuckkkk!!!!
I just voted in this poll. Afterwords, I see the link to the story about the administrations public relations campaign and realized that I had been tricked into supporting their claims.

I came here to post about this poll and found that I was not the first.

8. PLEASE WRITE AN E-MAIL TO CNN. THEY ARE DOING THIS
MORE AND MORE. Their quick polls invite bias because of the way the questions are written.

9. So... Again I Repeat... "ALL POLLS ARE BULLSHIT!!" Say it with me...
... once more with *feeling*... ALL POLLS ARE BULLSHIT.

Even the "scientific" ones are bullshit.
Even the ones that appear to be in our favor are bullshit.
Telephone polls are bullshit.
Exit polls are bullshit.

The questions are worded cleverly to elicit a specific response. Questions assume "truths" that are not. Subsequent questions build on previously established "truths". Poll subjects LIE. The results are analyzed cleverly to show a trend or pattern that suits the analysts pre-conceived ideas of what the poll ought to reveal.
