celebrating a victory? Even Rush (just before declaring himself ineligible for the morality police) was trying to shoo voters away from Arnold toward McClintock, and afterward was crowing that it was a victory for the Repubs. (Mind you, this is also the guy who was screaming about how Bush had options available if he lost the electoral vote but won the popular vote. As soon as W lost the popular vote and was fighting for the electoral vote, Rush had a memory lapse.).
Surely, the serious Republicans supported McClintock, who lost by about a 3 to 1 margin to Bustamante, who gets to keep his job.
So, you have a bunch of people who liked neither the Dem candidate, nor the hardcore, serious Repub candidate. The serious voters, who paid attention to the Guvrnator to see if he actually would say anything of substance, lost.
