The gentlest introduction to Bush lies, the PNAC, etc.?

Only one person I know in fundy freeperville would listen to me. And even then, I think he basically dismisses my ideas because I'm a depressive and I'm an atheist. I'm sure he thinks those two things go together, even though I was a depressed Christian for five years.

I liked Al Franken's book, which sets a premise for how the PNAC has gotten away with murder (literally). I think that book would be a good first step because it's funny and written by someone who supported the war on Iraq (at first). I did, too, until I noticed the tone in the nation and realized the Iraq-attacking thing had not been analyzed very well. My awakening came before actual war with Iraq.

Franken did not include information on the PNAC. What's the next least offensive book that does?

Do you mean for your education or theirs?

That's a tough question. Since you bring up the subject of fundamentalist faith: I believe that the unwavering faith that Bush still enjoys is from those who believe that he is the Second Coming and beyond reproach.

There is no way to do to be gentle. Give them the facts pure and simple.

Clinton lied about his private life -- it was not perjury, as under oath false statements must be pertinent to the case to be perjury.

BushCo lies about everything. They could care less and have (had) the public fooled. This Texas style business and politics disease must be sent back to Texas and contained there.

Conason goes through, with minimal personal input, the facts that make this administrations the most corrupt, inept, corporate run, and purely political monsters every to preside.

7. Hightower is fairly gentle

Jim Hightower has an overall optimism that can be helpful, and he makes various appearances on talkshows, and even goes around the country talking about how to take back our country. He's got a book out, but I can't remember the name of it, maybe somebody else knows what that is. He always says that he is an optimist partly because he doesn't watch or read any news from the ap, that he feels it's been co-opted so he doesn't bother watching it. I suppose your friend might think anyone radically different from him is nuts, but people do change.
