If our elected US Senate Democrats will not stand up for
the millions and millions and millions of voters who elected
Al Gore, in fact the MAJORITY of votes cast in election 2000,
DONT you think its time to get NEW Democrats in office.
What good does it do to have Republican-lite Democrats remain
in office ? Sure its better than a Republican, but what good does it
do if there is No OPPOSITION to the OPPOSITION Party ?
Its apparent that the reason Democrats have not been successful
at getting a ground-swelling of support, is that too many times
the elected Democrats have only enabled Bush.
The largest ever anti-war protests took place across the USA where
millions of Americans took part, yet the elected Democrats, some
who now want us to vote for them for President, voted for war.
Lieberman www.joe2004.com/
Gephardt www.dickgephardt2004.com/
etc....
Now granted those who ok'd war had their reasons,
not a firm enough spine maybe,
But they were elected to serve Democrats who voted them in,
Not an unelected GWBUsh.
Now that they ticked off their voting base by voting for
war they have lost support, hence the large ground support for
Dean (but not forgetting the other fine candidates
But now we at DU are supposed to walk on eggshells not trying
to be offensive to the same ones who allowed Bush to do
what ever he wants. Does that make any sense ?
DU seems to have morphed away from the ability to call
Democrats out on who are only acting like Republicans.
It is a sad day when SKINNER stops posters from calling
Democrats spineless, when that is exactly what they are.
Harry Truman would NEVER agree with letting spineless DEMs
get away with being Bush enablers.
Ban me if you must, but I'm never going to forgive or forget
The Democrats in office allowing this un-elected PNAC
puppet get away with stealing an election, and waging a war
of aggression based on lies.
Spineless democrats let Bush take my country away.
AND the idiot Democrats in office let him do it.
The Democrats could have walked out of US Congress in protest.
The Democrats could have allowed the Congressional Black
Caucus to speak.
The Democrats could be ..........acting like REAL Democrats

Today was the day that Congress accepts or rejects the state electors. Any objections must come from at least one Representative and at least one Senator. As it turns out, a lot of Representatives did have objections to make, however none of them could find even a single Senator to co-sign the objections, so they didn't go through. Gee, could this have anything to do with yesterday's news about the Senate committee sharing? A little quid pro quo. Not that I'm complaining too hard - the objections were just a gesture and wouldn't have gone anywhere, while the committee sharing is very real and will severely limit Bush's power. But it's worth remembering those Representatives who stood up to protest.
Here's a good quote from a statement issued by Democrats.com:
We are extremely proud of the fourteen Members of Congress who rose in protest today: Corrine Brown, Eva Clayton, Elijah Cummings, Peter Deutsch, Bob Filner, Jesse Jackson Jr., Eddie Bernice Johnson, Barbara Lee, Sheila Jackson Lee, Carrie Meek, Cynthia McKinney, Patsy Mink, Maxine Waters, and above all Alcee Hastings. As a result of their efforts, history will show that members of the Democratic Party were not willing to accept the ultimate crime against democracy - the theft of the Presidency.
