Sterling Heights City Manager Steve Duchane admitted Tuesday he lied when he said he held a college degree from the University of Michigan-Flint. He said he regrets the lie.

St. Clair Shores City Manager Mark Wollenweber said he is surprised about the Duchane controversy. He said he has known Duchane for many years and considers him as a "top-flight" manager.
Macomb County Prosecutor Carl J. Marlinga said lying in a deposition could constitute perjury, which carries a 15-year prison term.
But, the prosecutor added, a perjury statement must be made under oath and the falsehood must be material to the case. Marlinga expressed doubt Duchane's lying about his education in the deposition would rise to that standard.

There are several people here in Detroit Metro area saying, "So what". He lied. There are several qualified people who could take the job currently unemployed. While I don't neccesarily think one would need a bachelor's degree for this position, it clearly stated so, and he lied on his resume'. Job well done, or not, I think they need to send a message here and let him go. He says he won't resign. What are your thoughts?
