Impeach Bush: 2nd California town

First Santa Cruz city council voted last month to pass a resolution to advise their congressional representation to recommend Bush's impeachment. Well a second California town, Arcata, is supposed to be considering doing the same today.

ARCATA, Calif. (AP) - An Arcata city councilman hopes the latest White House scandal will breathe new life into his campaign to impeach the president.

Councilman Dave Meserve will ask the Arcata City Council Wednesday to approve a resolution asking the U.S. House of Representatives to impeach President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.

When presented at an Aug. 20 council meeting, the Arcata resolution, which the panel declined to take up at that time, said: "The City Council of the city of Arcata calls upon the United States House of Representatives to immediately impeach George W. Bush and Richard B. Cheney."

According to the paper, the case for impeachment in the proposal focuses on the war in Iraq and Bush's now-infamous 16-word statement in his State of the Union address regarding African uranium.

Arcata Mayor Bob Ornelas said he would vote for the resolution, according to the report.

9. Reality Check

The Reps control both houses of congress, the SCOTUS, and the exuctive branches of governments, as well as the majority of governorships and state houses. GWB has an approval rating of about 55%. Impeachment? Does anyone honestly think that a Rep house & senate is going to impeach a Rep president??? Time to sober up folks.

it's not like he's actually going to be impeached, no matter what he does.

Bush has already lied and caused so much damage to this country that he deserves to be hung drawn and quartered and then branded.

Of course the criminals running the republican party aren't going to go after Shrub no matter what he does.

But it is important for people to stand up and speak the truth. That's why this kind of move is so important. It lets the criminals in the white house know that they are being watched, that some people are paying attention to their crimes.
