A local poll that is extremely biased. Short explanation following
A Muslim girl was expelled from school in Muskogee, OK (a few miles from here) for wearing a Hijab (sp?) last week. Apparently the school board has decided to let her to so, the news this evening showed her going back to school wearing it. So here comes KTUL with their poll "Should students be allowed to wear religious clothing?"

It's an up or down vote, yes or no. Predictably the "NOs" are prevalent because the rednecks around here only see the issue in terms of Muslims. If they had included "or religious symbols", I think it would have been a different kettle of fish because there are many kids who wear Jesus crap on their shirts, crosses as pins or necklaces, ad nauseum. None of them obviously have been expelled.
Here's their page, the poll is on it

1. Wouldn't worry about that
The poll is completely spammable. Will record multiple votes in succession. It's such an easy thing to make a poll that will not allow this, that the TV station shouldn't even report the results (if they do), because they are no where close to accurate.

2. Well...
then that should include Jesus t-shirts.

And yarmulkes. I bet nobody thought of yarmulkes.

3. Big difference
between attire worn for religious reasons and attire worn to proclaim or promote religion. A WWJ shirt is very different from a yarmulke or a hijab.

Of course, religious bigots notice a difference, too, but for different reasons.
