Here's some interesting stuff I found about Rush's first two failed detox sessions:

Previously Limbaugh underwent an ultrarapid detoxification at a clinic in New York because this allowed him anonymity, although he told his beloved Dittohead listerers Friday that he had "always been honest with you about my life." A 30-day program offers only a 50-50 chance of a cure, which a better chance than with rapid detox. Limbaugh was allegedly treated for drug use at least twice at the Addiction Recovery Institute in New York City. His cleaning lady/drug pusher told the Enquirer that, "Several months after she began supplying him...she got a shock when he confided to her that he was leaving town to undergo a rapid detox technique" at the Addiction Recovery Institute (ARI) in New York City. The ARI operates two centers for detoxification. Its web site gives the location of the one in New Rochelle, NY, north of the city. The secret location on the exclusive upper-east side of Manhattan is at 128 East 91st Street. Since the stay is overnight and the location a secret, this allows celebrities to conceal their treatment and problem. Overnight Opiate Detoxification
This is a 24-hour anesthesia-assisted detoxification from opiate-based drugs including OxyContin, Vicodin, Percocet, Codeine, Heroin and Methadone. 4. Oooohhh - this is getting more interesting!

I didn't even think about this part - Clear Channel and its fiduciary duty!! Lions and tigers and bears, oh my:bounce:

8. I'd be surprised if Rush isn't in breach of the contract. I find it highly

unlikely that they'd be obligated to pay rush if he's unable to perform do to his own drug use. And if they are, I'm sure they bought an insurance policy to protect them.

9. Detoxing is NOT rehabbing

To be truly clean from prescription narcotics, Limbaugh would have to go into at least a 1-year rehabilitation program...
And detox, especially a quick one, doesn't count for spit unless the emotional and psychological aspects of the addiction are eliminated, too. THAT'S why he's relasped twice. And I seriously doubt he can get "truly clean" in 30 days.

A very interesting point was raised on Take Back The Media radio last week: maybe the real reason why Rush broadcast his shows from his Florida home was because broadcasting from a Clear Channel studio would require him to pass a drug screening!

6. Limbaugh Takes The Pledge

Regardless of what anybody says, his credibility as a right-wing pundit has taken a huge hit. He was spiraling downward, and it's better that he didn't crash completely, but this is not good for his career. Bill Bennett is a laughing stock now that we know he's a gambling addict.

recently in the ESPN series Playmakers, where the star running back gets sent to rapid detox. As for Jeff Christie, I don't see him getting long term help from this. I can see him relapsing big time. That is if he actually gets cleaned out now. And I've all but written off jail time for PigBoy. $30 mil a year buys a whole different kind of justice system.
