Senator Max Cleland SLAMS bush* (watch on C-span link)
Edited on Wed Oct-15-03 11:36 PM by amen1234
from Wednesday morning Washington Journal on C-span....

this is about a 30 minute video...if you can't listen to the whole thing...at least listen to the caller from Ft. Worth, Texas who tried to defend shrub and slam Max again for lack of patriotism (starts about 7 minutes into the video)...

Max levels the guy...and levels bush*....it's great....

the Max Cleland video is under Terrorism Video Archive
(if you hit the Max Cleland link, it should load itself up in RealOne Player all by itself...at least that's what happens on my computer)....

...watch it soon, before they remove it....

B.S. in Chemistry....

worked my way through during the Vietnam war turmoil, as my fellow students were drafted to Vietnam, torn out of the classroom, and many died in Vietnam (including my cousin) and many never recovered to this day from their mental/physical injuries

and TODAY, experience tell me that younger people should be afraid, be very afraid....STAND UP and FIGHT NOW...
October 25th in DC and SF..
march to bring the troops home NOW...
fight NOW for your lives and limbs, because the draft hits fast and hard...and homeland security/usapatriot act makes it so much easier...

I did my graduate work in Chemistry much later in life, completing my graduate work in Chemistry at the University of Colorado 1990.

Glad to have other alumni here too...there is always a much bigger responsibility on educated people to take action...it was a gift to attend such a prestigious University and we must use our talents to remove the cancer growing in our government, before this war breaks out into a HUGE $87 BILLION EXPLOSION all over the middle east...

did you hear Max Cleland talk about the upcoming draft???? it's a very big reality...

BTW, what was your major and degree????

2. Thanks for the link!
Max Cleland was steamed! I had read here that Cleland was attacked for being unpatriotic, but the repubs had put his pic up between Saddams and Bin Ladens when he was running for reelection? That's low....

4. yes, typical reTHUGlican tactic to disrespect an honored
Vietnam Veteran (with tons of medals for his service to OUR country) and put his photo in between Saddam and Osama, claiming he is
UN-Patriotic during his re-election campaign...those bush* TV ads were why Max Cleland lost his re-election, and the people of Georgia owe him one...I hope they understand how bush and his THUGS duped them...

it's pretty pathetic in our country when a honorable Vietnam Veteran, who gave both his legs and his right arm for OUR country, is slandered out of office by chicken-hawks cheney ("I had other things to do at the time") and bush* (AWOL and deserter from the Texas Air National Guard, a position his father got for the shrub to skip out on Vietnam)....

somehow, it keeps ghosting across the back of mind that...God will find a way to repay bush* and cheney for that....

5. Nope
The incredibly wrong-on-so-many-levels tv ads against Cleland did NOT cost him the election. Nor did Bush's last minute-campaigning in Georgia.

They did provide cover though. A "plausible" reason.

Cleland lost the Senate election because the votes were rigged in Georgia. Period.

Cleland was a popular incumbent. He spent 50% more than his opponent. He was leading in the polls up to the election. Yet he lost, according to the votes "counted" by the 22,000 new voting machines put in by Diebold in Georgia.

The governor's race was not all that different either -- first Republican governor in Georgia in 130 years.

The TV ads and the treatment of Cleland were reprehensible. But, stealing the election by voting fraud -- that's criminal.

6. there must be a much bigger effort on the voting machines
before this happens again....it is so bad...sometimes, I cry for my country...America, America...where are you ???

everyday, I learn something even more reprehensible...and just when I think that nothing can get worse...it gets worse....

thanks for the info...makes me sick....

especially if today's younger people could find their backbones and STAND UP...maybe by October 25th....there may be a chance for change...for in my more enlightened moments, I am an eternal optimist...and I believe in America...that we can once again be a great country and lead the world to a better place and use our talents and gifts to create anything but more bombs...it will take everyone pulling together, and it will take a GIANT effort...and that is the part that scares me, for I rarely see young people even voting or participating in protests...most couldn't tell you who their congressional reps are...and they just don't see that danger that is knocking on their doors...I hope the young people wake up soon...maybe for the October 25 March in DC and SF....there is so little time and the danger is so great....

there is so much to do...but I keep hoping and praying that a 'coalition of the willing - the young people in America' will find their place and make a diffence...us old people are getting too tired to carry this on alone...
