2. I work for these people, they are SCARY

I work for a government contractor that hires LOTS of "retired" (meaning 40 yr old) military. Management is pervaded with right wing evalgelical Christians. Stuff like "promise keeper" coffeee mugs, mouse pads with quotes from revelation, etc.

They are definitely driven by their religious ideology.

4. Not all Evangelicals are Fundamentalists

We should be more precise how we talk about these groups. Fundamentalists, who I believe you are talking about here, are the group that oppose nearly everythin we stand for, and are most closely alighned with the Republican Party. Evangelicals are actually a broader, more inclusive group, which does include fundamentalists, but also other more tolerant groups. In fact, if I'm not mistaken, Christians who identified themselves as Evangelical went for Gore in the last election.

I'm not an evangelical myself (I'm Unitarian), so I don't take this personally, but I just think we should be a bit more precise how we talk about these groups.
