How fiscally stable is your candidate?
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 02:24 PM by jamesinca
I found this little bit of information while in LBN yesterday reading how some candidates were over spending. At the current rate the Dem field will be cut in half by February from lack of funds. Q2-Q3 change is difference in contributions

Cash on hand / Q3 dispersment/ Q3contributions /Q2-Q3Change

Joe Liberman
4.1 million / 3.6 million /3.6 million / -29%

Braun
$29,278/ $118,259 /$125,193 / -13%

Gephardt
5.9 million / 4.2 million/ 3.8 million / -1%

Clark
3.4million / $107,260/ 3.5 million / +/-0

Dean
12.4 million / 8.8million/ 14.8 million / +95%

Kerry
7.8million / 7.1million/ 4million/ -32%

Edwards
4.8million / 5.9million/ 2.1million / -54%

Kucinich
$785,471/ 2million / 1.7million / +7%

Sharpton

1. How the media cheats us
The media cheats us in many ways, but one of the things I find most annoying is how they turn campaigns into horseraces by ignoring the nuance of comparing positions and policies, and instead focus on polls and how much money each candidate has raised.

2. Money will play a role in it though
If the candidate has no money, he can't run adds, he can not travel around the country and campaign, he can not fight off the dity tricks of Bush and Co. If they spend all of their money in the primaries fighting with each other they have nothing left for Bush. He has no oposition in the primaries, he just has to sit and wait to see who the front runner is and attack them with $200 million of lies and smear.
