not strayed from
his original game plan of burying his head in the sand and pointing to
whatever dim ray of
good news he can find. This week that ray appeared in the form of a poll
showing his job
approval rating is on a slight upswing. Check out how President Bush made
sure everyone saw
the polls. Which he didn’t think were important. But they were. Maybe.
“There was a poll that showed me going up yesterday, not to be on the
defensive. Actually, I’m in pretty good shape, politically. I really am. I
didn’t
mean to sound defensive. But I am. Politicians, by the way, who pay
attention to
the polls are doomed.”
Fascinating.
Let’s use a little elementary logic to put this situation together.
A. President Bush pays attention to the polls (then blabs about them to
reporters).
B. President Bush is a politician.
If both A and B are true, then President Bush is “doomed,” according to his
own line of
reasoning.
