bush*: Iraq reconstruction..a more important story than soldiers dying...
-snips-

OLYMPIA — State Democrats have blistered Republican U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt for saying Iraq's reconstruction is "a better and more important story than losing a couple of soldiers every day."
Democratic state Chairman Paul Berendt said Nethercutt has turned into "an administration shill who insults the service of the men and women brave enough to serve their country."

Nethercutt replied that his remarks had been mischaracterized. He said he knows firsthand the sacrifice of American soldiers and deplores the continuing violence in Iraq.

Nethercutt is part of a White House public relations offensive, the Democratic party said in a statement released by Berendt.

"Yesterday, it was George Nethercutt's turn to sell the administration's failing Iraq policy," the party said. "But as he tried to marginalize the loss of hundreds of U.S. soldiers, Nethercutt insulted the memory of those who have died."

1. good. we cannot let this go unnoticed.
What happened to all those who were braying about "support the troops" and condemning anti-war supporters? Where is the support now? Now the troops are not important?

We need to keep pointing this out over and over again, that OUR troops, OUR friends, brothers, sisters, neighbors, are dying in Iraq for an arrogant unprovoked war for oils. It IS important, and it DOES need to be reported accurately every single time.

Support the troops. Bring them home.

3. Scum
Nethercutt replied that his remarks had been mischaracterized.

There is nothing to mischaracterize. He demonstrated a supreme lack of humanity and now he's whining that he is the injured party.
