A Warning to the Congress of the United States:
Most of you are walking on quicksand. You are like little puppets in a kiddy show. You cannot recall the last time you had an independent thought. And now that the nation requires a courageous person to stand up to a tyrant and speak up for the people, you are frozen in your indecision and cowardice.

But there is a revolt hatching right under your noses and you think you smell roses. But, in fact, it is anger burning in the hearts and minds of concerned and worried Americans. They have your names just like they had Gray Davis' name and you are on your way out the big door. Your incompetence and lack of judgement and intelligence can no longer be tolerated. Enjoy your little vacation. It won't last much longer.

2. Agreed.
And I wish you were right. But I am still a cynic (the CA recall didn't help) and believe that the monied few will continue to control our government. The election is a year away, once we pick a candidate there are many (even some here) who will fall away, the electoral college is a major problem (have to win all the states that Gore did plus one more: which one?), and the voting is rigged. It is an uphill battle, and one that needs to be won. Impeachment is what he deserves (resignation would be even better, because it would cement the analogy with Nixon; though Nixon resigned AFTER winning the election), but that is impossible with repugs in charge. We must continue to hit the streets, write letters, protest, scream, and get our leaders (Krugman, etc.) to keep our voices heard in the media.

5. Impeachment is not imposible, if you play "moral chicken."
You are right, the repugs would never alow impeachment. And even some of the Democrats would not alow impachment. The DLC is on the record oppsoing the idea, saying they "refuse to ingadge in such deviseve partisen politics."

But there is a way. If you can not try Bush in a court of law, than you try him in the court of public oppinion. You present the Bush record in all of it's ugly glory. And you keep at it.

One of two things would then happen. Either Bush becomes so poised by his own record, that the Repugs fear the fallaout of protecting a crook. Or, that Bush will moderate himself, and begin obaying the law for a change.

I would be happy with eather. You do need control of Congress to hold impeachment hearins, or launch an investigation. But you do not have to control congress to take it to the people.

7. Here! Here!
This also applies to those Democrats who have forgotten what it means to be a Democrat, and those who consistently vote to give strength to Bush, PNAC, and their allies. For those kinds of Democrats, my contempt is double what I have even for the Republicans, because you, unlike them, swore to uphold Democratic principals, and instead, now enable the fascists, while filling your pockets with filthy lucre.

Payback time approaches ....
