Miss Nude World in Iowa

Is this competition sending the wrong message to young, Iowa girls? I guess I would think that parents wouldn't take their young girls to the competition, but maybe I am wrong. :)

I guess there is a parade or something downtown, but with decency laws I doubt there will be any bearing of skin in public. Still a funny poll to see on the news station.

1. Is this sending the wrong message?
Yeah, but so is Cosmo magazine as well as all those other fashion magaiznes in this world. I think we should go back to the days when it was fashionable for women to have a little extra weight on their bones. In fact it was considered downright sexy!

2. I probably shouldn't admit this, but...
A girl my husband dated in high school went on to become a Miss Nude World. She showed up at a high-school reunion in a travel trailer that had "Miss Nude World" painted across the side. She had really big hair and wore a sparkly jumpsuit. This was the early 80s so I suppose that was quite fashionable.

4. Great Story
Your husband's ex sounds about like Pricislla, Queen of the Desert. Traveling around by bus.

The pagent is in Des Moines and of course the moral among us are peeved. I still bet the drag queens at the gay clubs look better. ;)

3. Keep in mind
It is the very taboo of nudity that escalates its titilation value (er no pun intended). Because our society has this two faced attitude towards the human body we wind up objectifying people. Face it, if we were not drawn and attracted by each others bodies the species would have died off a long time ago. We like each others forms. Thats part of who we are. Our societies attempt to deny this causes much of the negative aspects of sexual predation.

5. Being from a little town near Munich, Germany
I am very used to seeing bared flesh, both male and female, in public. I've seen everything from beautiful sirens to downright ape-like cretures playing volleyball in the "Englischer Garten".

So, I have to ask Iowans, what is the big freaking deal?

You're only young once.
