1. I am sad to say you are right.
I have been listening to her and nothing she has said justifies her voting yes for this 87B.
She sounds like Biden.

10. Nothing justifies her vote
It was exactly the same as her speech before the IWR. By listening to the first 2/3 of that speech, you would have thought she was going to vote no.

2. what do you expect? she also voted for the war resolution
in spite of my constant calling to her offices, both in New York and in Washington, urging her not to do so

there is no excuse for her and why people keep holding her up as some kind of wonderful progressive is quite beyond me

3. Finished Listening
Listened to her speech.
The more I see her voteing record, the less I think she is presidential timber. I'm glad she isn't running.

5. I saw her on Jon Stewert a few nights ago. She stunk. Had nothing to
say that was interesting. Jon asked her about the Calif recall -- she had no interesting comment. A thoughtful 14 year-old could have analyzed the recall in more depth.

Basically, her appearance seemed to be, from her point of view, just a chance to wallow happily in her celebrity-hood. She preened & pranced in the limelight, expressed no significant opinions, imparted no stimulating viewpoints or information.

Aside from being an unprincipled sellout & excessively pleased with herself, what good is she?

7. During that interview
she got in a good shot at Bush which drew tons of applause. If was worth it just for that.

6. She's more a creation of Republicans than Democrats
If the rightwing hadn't demonized her into the great she-devil, she wouldn't be as prominent as she is.

Even her mannerisms and rhetoric seemed very forced and phoney tonight. I lost a lot of respect for her when she sold out on the Iraq resolution. One of her main arguments was that she sympathized with those who supported the antiwar position and "sometimes they turn out to be right." She voted for it, of course. It was an odd argument, more like a calculation on what was the best political strategy rather than what was right or wrong.

8. We expect way too much from this one person......she's damned if she
does and damned if she doesn't. I find her interesting but she does not hold our future in her hands or her votes.

The vote for the 87 billion was a foregone conclusion. They protested with some weak amendments but * got what he wanted. It will be up to the people to take back the democracy in this country. Not elected officials who pander for votes as job security.
