Just got home from work, where I go every day, pay my taxes, live a good and productive life, and I get home to hear that the death toll in Iraq has broken 100. I am literally feeling my heart sink. I was married to a military man for 15 years, and I can't even imagine the horror of hearing that your soldier, whether it is a son, daughter, husband or wife will not be coming home. My heart is breaking for those families. And to completely send me over the edge, Buchananan and Press was talking to the "Rev" Falwell, and he was blathering on about the reason so many teens are having oral sex is because of Clinton. At least Press didn't let him get away with it, asking him how he can forgive the Governator for his sexual transgressions. Of course he didn't answer.
We have all got to work very hard in the following months to get these young men and women home. Only way-BUSH HAS GOT TO GO. As long as he is in the White House, my beloved America must continue to hang her head in shame. I just want my country back. I want my boys to grow up in the America it can be, and be able to live their lives in a country they can be proud of. I want a voice in my government that will be accountable, and look out for all our citizens, and not put them in harm's way.
Sorry, I am just feeling so bad right now.

I continue to be astounded by the RW bastards who say the most horrendous things and are still handed microphones. As far as I'm concerned, Falwell and Robertson should have been hooted off the national stage when they blamed the feminists and the pagans for 9/11. Ditto Coulter. The moment she said the soldiers were complaining about getting their hair mussed, she should have lost every bit of credibility she still had. BUT THESE PEOPLE ARE STILL WITH US. Why? BTW..the actual death toll is actually a lot higher.. :(..and when they send off an injured soldier who later dies, his death is not included, since he did not "actually die" in combat..

and the ones who are killed in "accidents" are suspicious too.. If an rpg hits a jeep, and the soldier is crushed by the jeep, it's listed as an "accident".. They are a shifty bunch of guys, the Pentagonians:(

I thought the death toll was just over 330 dead US soldiers alone. About 900-1000 iraqi civilians, and dozens of british troops. Isn't this accurate?

Was that is how many have died since May, when conflict supposedly ended. And that is our guys, not counting Iraqi citizens and troops from other countries. As SoCalDem said, I'm sure it is higher than what is being called combat deaths.

10. That really pisses me off

3 months ago it was 154 dead since major combat stopped, it was a big deal because that was more then died in the first part of the war. Now the media is starting in with the "IN COMBAT" crap, and misrepresenting American casualties. F*CK I HATE THE MEDIA.

It made me so sad. I said, "How long can this go on? Just how long can it go on?" It made me decide for sure to attend the march on the 25th. That march comes at a tough time for me, due to other travel that was planned a long time ago, but I have to be there with my protest sign.

12. The "In Combat" Figure is so misleading

Every soldier who died in Iraq, whether it was enemy fire, car accident or whatever is just as dead to their families.

I heard yesterday that at least 12 soldiers have committed suicide
in Iraq.

There have been over 1700 soldiers wounded. Where do you ever hear
that figure on the news?

15. While we live our lives from day to day, periodically we are hit

full force with the horror that has descended upon our country, and,indeed, the world. I know that my obsession with the neverending * nightmare has negatively impacted some areas of my life (e.g. time with family, and focus on my work). When I've moved too far in the political direction I have to back off for personal protection. Yet I keep getting drawn back by some absolutely unbelievable action (e.g. *'s Iraqi invasion; the Schwarznegger coup; traitorgait...). And so it goes. I suppose those of us who have consciences, brains, and the power to do anything at all will fight this evil in whatever way, and with whatever means and energy, we individually possess.
