Edwards i just rewatched hardball

i am so impressed with how REAL he is. i rewatched partially because of a conversation with an indie couple. the were GUSHING, and i mean that. about his personality. they said he mwas a little hard on bush and i bit my lip because i wanted to hear about Edwards. they liked him, i think, mostly for his style and his populism. the man ended with the phrase 'really good guy'....wow.

they're right. he has a great lugh and there doesn't appear to be a phony bone in his body. why he isn't catching fire is beyond me.

Perhaps he's capable of being more critical of Bush, but it seems like he's holding back for some reason.. . oh, because he's a Populist and his campaign is straight outta Mayberry or some shit, "oh golly Gee I am a stonemason's son, dont Bush just teeyick you off?"

He asked Edwards "Do you really mean that?" Edwars replied in the affiramtive and Tweety moved on. I think Tweety knew he couldn't lay a glove on Edwards.

Must be hard when the interviewee is smarter, more eloquent, and more charming than you are.

if your definition is correct.

despite the accent, he doesn't come of 'mayberryish'

it's more that, and i hate to repeat myself. but his realness...down to earth but not hickish.

totally confident yet totally unpretenious, when he talked about the excitement of planning to buy a home it struck a cord with the indies i referred to, he radiates 'i care' without seeming.....i'm stuck for a word again...oh well...it will come to me.

You'll get no argument from me about Edward's personality. He's personable and likable.

My question is: Waht does he now say about Iraq? The last time I saw him (one of the Sunday talk shows) he would go no farther than "It's a good thing Saddam is gone." I found that disappointing and am hoping he's going further out on the limb now, as in asserting the case for war was based on lies or something like that.

In fairness to Kerry's supposed sudden "conversion" to the anti-war movement, he is just following up consistent with his IWR vote by pointing out that 'til now Bush had his trust to act responsibly (as in not attacking Iraq unilaterally) as per his statement yesterday:

"We need to stand up to this president. They’ve already proven they can’t be trusted, they’ve already proven that they’re willing to mislead..."

25. He thinks doing what Bush did

was a good thing. He was for toppling Saddam and hasn't changed his position (with or without UN approval). He may be trying to separate his support for the action and Bush's approach in alienating other countries. A kind of have your cake and eat it too position given that the war is unpopular with many activists in the party but at the time of the vote, was popular with Americans. I'm from N.C., but supporting Clark. I think at any other time, I might would consider him, but not given the current climate in this country.

He has been gaining everywhere so the question is not whether he gets enough votes, its whether he has enough time.

I love it. Edwards is waging class war! Snapping at the heels of the rich who are shifting the burdens on working and middle class.
