in Karbala; one of the three who were killed. I don't know much about the Army, but isn't that a fairly high rank? Lt. Colonel?

1. BN Cdr's are generally...

Lt. Col's, but can be Majors if the BN is small enough, or the proper rank wasn't available. Might even be a bird Col if it was big enough.

In any case, It would be of substantial rank.

It is a shame no matter how one looks at it though.

and yes, it's usually a LTC but not always

I was always in a combat unit, INF, AR, and they always had LTC's, but I wasn't sure about MP's or some other support units. I tried to avoid MP's as much as possible.
